About Delta Sliding Doors

Founded in 1995 by Mike Hannigan & Danny Hannigan — a sliding-door company built around repairing what others give up on.

A Sliding Door Company Built Around Repairing What Others Give Up On

Delta Sliding Doors was founded in 1995 by Mike Hannigan and Danny Hannigan. From the beginning, the idea was simple: understand how the door was built, identify what actually failed, and repair what can be repaired before telling a homeowner that the entire door needs to be replaced.

That approach has become more valuable with time.

The sliding doors we see today are not all built the same. Some are newer impact-rated systems with large, heavy glass panels. Others have been opening to Florida patios, lanais and balconies for twenty, thirty or even more years. We still work on older aluminum doors whose original manufacturer is difficult to identify, doors with faded labels, discontinued roller assemblies, unusual track profiles, and locks or handles that are no longer sitting on a shelf at the local hardware store.

Mike and Danny learned early that a good sliding-door technician cannot depend on one universal roller or one catalog. A replacement part has to match the door. That can mean comparing the roller housing, wheel diameter, wheel width, single- or tandem-wheel configuration, adjustment range, mounting points, track profile, panel weight and the space available inside the bottom rail.

When a common local replacement is not right, Delta looks farther.

We source compatible sliding-door hardware through suppliers and manufacturers in the United States and abroad so we can solve problems on both older and newer doors. The goal is not to force a part into a door because it looks close. The goal is to identify a component that is appropriate for the door, install it correctly, and adjust the complete system so the panel moves the way it should.

That matters in Northeast Florida. Coastal moisture, salt exposure, sand, humidity and heavy impact-rated panels can be hard on rollers, bearings, tracks and hardware. A corroded track can damage new rollers. A worn roller can make a homeowner pull harder on the handle and put unnecessary stress on the lock and frame. A heavy panel that is out of adjustment can feel like the entire door has failed when the real problem is much smaller.

Our technicians inspect the complete moving system instead of replacing parts blindly. If the rollers are worn, we look at the track. If the track is damaged, we look for the reason. If the door does not lock, we check alignment before assuming the lock itself is bad. If an older part is discontinued, we measure and research before deciding that replacement of the whole door is the only option.

We also believe homeowners deserve to understand what we found. Delta provides a free on-site estimate. We inspect the door in person, explain the problem, show the customer what needs attention, and provide the price before work begins. When the customer approves the estimate and the required parts are available, many repairs can be completed during the same visit.

More than three decades after Delta Sliding Doors began, the principle is still the same:

Do not replace a door just because one component failed. First find out whether the right repair and the right part can bring it back to life.
